How Kook & Hoomen answers a question, names its sources, dates an entry and handles a correction.
Edition of
One question, one answer
Every entry states its question in the title and answers it in the opening paragraph. The rest of the entry gives the working detail: settings, chemistry, timings, materials and the conditions under which the method was tested.
Sources
The sources named at the foot of an entry are the ones the studio read while writing it: standards, manufacturer specifications, published books and papers, and the studio's own bench notes. A source is named so that a reader can check it. Where the studio's own measurement disagrees with a published figure, both are given and the conditions of each are described.
Dates
An entry carries the date it was filed. A revision carries a new date. Nothing is back-dated.
Plates
Plates are photographs from the studio's own sessions, printing runs and shooting days. A plate is captioned by its subject.
Corrections
A correction that checks out is filed with the entry it concerns, in a paragraph that says what changed and when. Send one through the contact page.
